The Parish The Parish of Stow and Heriot is a joint Church of Scotland ministry and covers the valley of the Gala water from the old Midlothian boundary at Bowland to the watersheds which divide the Borders from the Lothians.
This is a small, rural parish consisting of the villages of Stow, Fountainhall and Heriot and associated farming lands. The parish is part of the Church of Scotland's Presbytery of Melrose and Peebles.
Each Sunday, services are held in both churches, and the church plays a vital and unique part in the life of the two communities, which lie 10 miles apart.
